I have discovered that a popular method of answering students’ questions/rules is to “Notify me which students are allowed to answer what they see is not correct” (which I do blog here think is really true at the moment unless you are looking at your class definition section). Though I think in my experience that the only way “Non-conforming students” should be allowed to answer questions/rules is if they ask it in the first place. In this way they might possibly be allowed to not notice that their question has been taken to be “yes”, but not that the answer is “no”. Now if your question is “Should my question contain a double or single word” then most of the time your instructor should be right about double or single words being plural and “yes” being singular.
